On the surface Yinka Ilori is a product designer who creates beautiful furniture. Yet due to the uniqueness of his aesthetic he really is an artist. Upon examination of his designs he draws on his Nigerian and Yoruba heritage and sets his ancestry in a modern context. His designs are pure luxury because he is an original artist, his designs are distinct and there is nothing in the world of furniture or interiors that is similar to his creations.
His work has taken him across the world, to events such as Art Basel Miami. He maintains close ties to Nigeria, earlier in the year he created a functional installation for Social Media Week Lagos 2016. We look forward to seeing what else Yinka Ilori will create.
